About Nick Nevares

Nick has been awarded 2023 Realtor of the Year by Realtors of Central Colorado. He is also a National Association of Realtors Green Designee.

Nick is an energetic manifestor, with a keen ability to create and produce solutions to complex problems. Before coming to Crestone in 2017, he had a prolific career as a professional event designer and producer in New Orleans. After over a decade of planning wasteful parties for the elite, he was left feeling empty. He turned inward, and after becoming a Reiki practitioner, sold his possessions to begin to seek a new life. He traveled the country providing energy healing, and meals, for the most disenfranchised in homeless shelters and soup kitchens. During his journey he experienced deep transformation. He learned to trust the universe and let go of the attachment and expectations that cause inherent suffering. After two years on the road, he was guided to start his new life in Crestone, and committed to benefiting others, as he experienced success. Right away, he began to cook free meals for the community at the Little Shepherd Church. It was there a local realtor recognized his potential in real estate, and he was called to his career as a realtor. Now, years later, he has established himself in the real estate community area wide, and continues to use the support from his real estate profession to give back through community events throughout the year.

About Shirley Motz

I moved to Colorado in 1990, and started my real estate career on the front range in Metro Denver, Colorado Springs, etc. I specialized in farms and ranches, as I had show horses, and I understand the logistics of finding suitable property with animals is a whole different ball game. I knew the pro's and con's, so it was a natural specialty for me in the equestrian area I lived in. I also did residential and commercial in this area. After working 17 years on the front range for several companies, I decided to make a move to "higher ground.” I worked for Prudential in Woodland Park, and surrounding areas, and then went to work for Sothebys in Breckenridge. After hearing about the Town of Crestone from several people, I just had to go explore it for myself. It was love at first trip, and I knew I had to make a move. The scenery, wildlife, spiritual retreats, artist community, and small town feel at the foot of the mountains said it all for me. Nothing was missing as far as I was concerned. It was hard to believe after selling in 13 counties in Colorado that this magical place in a remote area also had underground utilities, roads maintained, high speed internet all on top of its natural beauty. That was 12 years ago and I have never regretted it! I first worked in Crestone for Century 21 Valley Realty, then opened my own office of "Crestone Realty" and after the decision to slow down a bit, I closed the office and went to work for Sangre De Cristo Real estate. Now I am happily working at Mountainside Realty with the mantra of serving the community. All these experiences have made me realize you never stop learning in this business! I learn from my clients and appreciate the opportunity to help others realize their dream like I have been able to.
